Tom Dempsey

Tom is an experienced financial services professional, who has expertise in private equity firm management and capital raising.  As Chief Operating Officer and a co-founding Partner of the firm, Tom is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities, including capital formation, fund administration, investor relations, compliance, and risk management.  Tom also serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to Shoal Harbor Capital, Tom was a Managing Director at Northern Trust, responsible for growing and deepening relationships with private equity and hedge fund sponsors. He also served as Partner and Head of Global Investor Relations at Corsair Capital, President of the North American business of Fulcrum Asset Management, and as Partner and Head of Business Development at Tremblant Capital.

Previously, Tom worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), where he was a Managing Director in the Quantitative Strategies group with coverage responsibilities for hundreds of institutional investors across multiple products. Over his 10+ years at GSAM, Tom was part of a senior leadership team that grew assets under management to over $100 billion. Tom began his career at Fiduciary Trust where he was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager.

Tom holds a B.A. in Government from Georgetown University, where he is a past member of the Board of Governors and the Board of Regents.
